New U.S. Ambassador Daniel V. Speckhard Arrives in Greece

The new U.S. Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, Daniel V. Speckhard, arrived in Greece on November 15, 2007. At the airport, he said, “We’re looking forward to getting to know the Greek people, to learning about the ancient culture, and to seeing the fantastically beautiful country.”
Ambassador Speckhard was nominated by U.S. President George W. Bush on September 12, confirmed by the Senate on October 26, and sworn in by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on November 7. His biography is available on the Embassy's website.
