American Blues Band Tours Northern Greece
The Eli Yamin Blues Band, a four-member blues and jazz band, on tour with the Rhythm Road Program of Jazz at Lincoln Center, performed in front of packed auditoriums in the northern cities of Drama and Xanthi. Additionally, in Drama, more than 200 students (ages 12-27), from the Drama Music School participated in a master class and performed with the band members for their fellow classmates. Following the master class, music teachers were invited to play traditional Greek music. Throughout their tour, the Eli Yamin Blues Band received wide media attention, gave interviews and was featured in several local blogs. Consul General Hoyt Yee attended the two performances in Drama and Xanthi, along with the mayors and other local officials of both towns.
