Contemporary Integrated Mosquito Control Program in West Thessaloniki
On September 1, Thessaloniki CG Kay addressed the opening of a conference on Contemporary Integrated Mosquito Control organized in partnership with the Development Company of Thessaloniki. The conference presented the findings of a USDA and University of Florida research program, conducted in cooperation with the Thessaloniki prefecture and several Greek universities, which tested cutting edge, environmentally friendly techniques for controlling the mosquito population in west Thessaloniki. In addition to the scientific presentations, the Deputy Prefect and several prominent local officials also spoke about the importance of cooperation and the great success of the program and thanked the scientists for their contributions.
