U.S. Supports 49th Thessaloniki International Film Festival
The United States Government supported the highly successful Thessaloniki International Film Festival, which again featured several American films. Well-known American directors and actors who attended the festival included Oliver Stone and William Dafoe.
The U.S. Mission to Greece provided funding that supported the participation of American films in the Festival, including “The Wrestler”, “Frozen River,” and “Momma’s Man.” Both Oliver Stone and William Dafoe offered master classes for the audience of the festival where they spoke about their work, approaching roles, filming and inspiration. Both Stone and Dafoe were awarded for their contributions in art.
