On May 6, Consul Robert King welcomed a group of 40 Fulbright scholars and general audience attending a lecture by Fulbright scholar Dr. Triantafillia Kourtoumi on “Contemporary immigration streams in the town of Thessaloniki: Voices from the archive of the “invisible” immigrant women,” at ConGen Thessaloniki. Dr. Kourtoumi presented the first results from her research on immigrant women in the town of Thessaloniki, based on 100 interviews. Her primary observations included the profiling of these immigrant women along with the record of their major problems and concerns. A lively discussion followed.
