U.S. Consulate General Donates Books for Grevena Correctional Facility

Following a recent courtesy call by Acting Consul General Marsha Lance to the Grevena Correctional Facility, the Thessaloniki Consulate General gathered books, with topics ranging from travel, history, photography, geography to politics and donated them to the facility’s library.  The Warden, Mr. Antonis Panagos welcomed the donation and noted the importance of enriching the lives of inmates with books and educational materials.  Mr. Panagos is a protagonist of the “Second Opportunity Schooling” program for inmates, which is similar to a high school curriculum for those wishing to continue their education while in prison.
