Jessup International Law Moot Court
Competition in Thessaloniki

American College of ThessalonikiDPO Elaine A. Paplos participated as a judge in the Thessaloniki Moot Court competition on Monday March 19 at the American College of Thessaloniki (ACT). This year’s case involved a dispute between the fictional Republic of Adaria and members of a fictional Rotian Union. The winners of the competition will go on to the international competition in Washington D.C. Also participating as judges were ACT Professor and Director of the Michael Dukakis Chair in Public Policy, Dr. David Wisner, Dr. Ioannis Naziris, Professor Grammatikaki-Alexiou from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki., and Professor Emeritus Phaedon Kozyris.
It is worth noting that the Greek team, from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Law School won the Washington competition last year.
The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, also known as the Jessup Cup, is a prestigious international law mooting competition which is organized by the International Law Students Association (ILSA), and attracts many law schools to participate every year. The Cup is named after Philip Jessup, who once served on the International Court of Justice.
