Annual Consular Outreach Event in Katerini

Consular staff traveled to the northern Greek city of Katerini on May 18 in order to provide consular services to U.S. citizens in the area.  During the three-hour session, staff accepted passport applications, performed notarial services, and received a request for a referral to a tax expert.  Additionally, staff performed private consultations onsite, answering queries on federal benefits and social security, immigration issues, questions on lapsed legal permanent residence status, and other topics.

Visitors were particularly interested in revised procedures for registering for the U.S. elections.  The Consulate’s 2011 Warden of the Year Rebecca Klingopoulos, assisted with logistics for the event.
