Richard Levin, Yale President addresses Thessaloniki audiences

On Wednesday, May 7, Dr. Richard C. Levin, President of Yale University, visited Thessaloniki in the framework of the “Great Ideas” speaker program, marking the 60th anniversary of the Fulbright Foundation in Greece. 

Dr. Levin gave two lectures, one on “The University in Service to Society” at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Thessaloniki, and one on the “Internationalization of the University” at Raphael Hall of Anatolia College on the evening of May 7   President Levin focused his lectures on the social and economic role of modern Universities and on their increasingly international character.  He also addressed a range of questions about American universities, including the advantages of a diverse range of university choices for students and healthy competition between public and private non-profit universities.

The “Great Ideas” program is under the auspices of the U.S. Mission to Greece and is made possible with a grant by the “Stavros Niarchos” Foundation.
