Athens (August 31, 2007) -- The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy announces that the following telephone and fax numbers are now in use.

The numbers 210-646-6331, 210-643-2977, 210-646-7238, 210-643-4710, and 210-643-3169 will no longer be in use effective immediately.
Individual extensions will continue to be in use.

The fax numbers 210-729-4311, 210-725-0953 and 210-725-7255 will no longer be in use effective September 5, 2007.
For those who are not familiar with the Information Resource Center (IRC), it is a research and reference service for Greek government officials, journalists, researchers and others with a professional interest in the United States. The IRC's collections include online databases, an up-to-date reference collection, recent U.S. government documents, and extensive periodicals collections online and in print form. Qualified bilingual information specialists can respond to inquiries by telephone, fax, mail and e-mail ircathens@usembassy.gr using the latest electronic resources. The IRC is open by appointment from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for specialized research and documentation queries in selected subjects.
