Lecture on Greek-American Writers Organized by Daughters of Penelope

On May 9, the U.S. Consulate General hosted a lecture on the importance of contemporary Greek-American writers as “mediators” between the Greek and American cultures, organized by the service organization Daughters of Penelope. Introducing the speaker, Consul General Yee stressed the important philanthropic role of the Daughters of Penelope, including its aid to victims of Hurricane Katrina. Professor Georgoudakis, writer and analyst of Greek-American writers presented the works of a number of well-known authors who have been successfully translated into Greek and have carried the immigrant experience of the United States to the Greek public.
