Promoting Cyber Security and Transborder Cooperation

ConGen Thessaloniki organized a three day seminar/training on Trans-border Cooperation Against Cyber Crime in the northern border city of Drama, June 2-4. The seminar, supported also by Department of Justice, Southeast Europe Cooperation Initiative (SECI) and Dept of Commerce, brought together policemen and prosecutors from eight Southeast Europe countries (Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Montenegro and Serbia) for training on how to recognize cyber crime, collect evidence and successfully present the evidence in court. The training emphasized the importance of inter-agency and cross-border cooperation in order to combat cyber threats, which are increasingly international in nature.
