American Diplomats Honor Yiorgos Yemenetzis

American diplomats who have served in Thessaloniki, and in the presence of Consul General John M. Koenig have honored Yiorgos Yemenetzis, a 90-year old retired employee of the American Consulate General for his contribution during his 30 years of service, from 1945 to 1976.
45 American diplomats signed the honorary plaque. Among those who signed was John Negreponte, US Ambassador to the UN.
Present at the event were American and Greek friends and colleagues of Yiorgos Yemenetzis.
